Today’s story is a great example of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s work in the realm of horror. Though best known as the creator of Sherlock Holmes, Doyle has written some very effective horror stories. Most notable are Lot No. 249, in which the reanimated mummy theme is masterfully executed; and The Horror of the Heights, dealing with the flying monsters visible when one pierces the atmosphere. The Horror of the Heights is one of the titles in The Classic Tales Podcast, Season Four.
And now, The Leather Funnel, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
