So here’s the story so far:

It’s become evident that the rich nobles who are in the government are picking off their poorer representatives one by one. They will insult them, duel them, and kill them. Their privileged schooling in swordsmanship giving them an unfair advantage. However, Andre-Louis has now become a replacement for Lagron, a member who was killed by M. de la Tour d’Azyr himself. And now that Andre-Louis has become a fencing master on the sly, his hopes are that the Marquis himself may provoke Andre-Louis to a duel, and be surprisingly chagrinned.
