Now, you’ve probably already picked up on this, but one of the themes of today’s story is how initial judgments can be wrong. When we first meet Lin McClean, we are introduced to the Governor’s low opinion of the cowboy. When we meet the boot-blacking boys in Denver, they come off as a bunch of hooligans. It’s interesting to note how much there is lurking under the surface in each of these cases. And in my limited experience, this is usually the case. There is usually a lot more to folks than may be apparent at first glance. At least that seems to be the case of some cowpunchers and boot-blacking boys in Denver, at Christmastime.
